Imagine my surprise this afternoon, the day before the biggest show I do all year, when my sewing machine--yes, the very SINGER whose praises I sang only a few weeks ago--absolutely quit working. I mean "quit working" in that when I opened it up, there was a PIECE OF IT just sitting there! A piece of the machine! Gah. Evidently, it is a tradition or a curse, as this very thing happened last year during this very same show.
I was in the middle of stitching up a few last minute items for the show tomorrow, and when the stitches started looking more like crazed Morse code ramblings, I figured it it was a sign from the heavens that I should maybe think about packing--which I did, for about 4 hours. So, silly curse, I'm ready for the show.
Also, thank goodness the machine guy is in at 8:30 tomorrow morning.
Last week we had the great pleasure of visiting with our friends in Cincinnati. Thanks so much for hosting us. Mel, keep an eye on the mailbox! (I know, I know, it would have been a more effective surprise if I didn't post this, but I couldn't wait!)
Incidentally, this is a slightly new design for SOMP... just a little taller than the clutch and a little wider than Zippy Classic, plus the detachable handle. I'm thinking I might need to invest in a riveter for nylon webbing straps. But this works too. :)
